Toprak Qala

Uzbekistan

This fort about 10km west of Boston was the main temple complex of the Khorezm kings who ruled this area in the 3rd and 4th centuries. The many rooms of the main corner palace are still clear and you can just make out the central Zoroastrian fire temple. The fort was abandoned in the 6th century.
