Law House

Washington, DC

This Federalist mansion is one of DC's oldest buildings. Constructed between 1794 and 1796, it was the home of Thomas Law and Eliza Parke Custis, eldest granddaughter of Martha Washington. Alas, it's a private residence and not open to the public.
