This small, remote campground on the western edge of the park takes a bit of effort to get to, but you’ll be well compensated for your journey. Just over half of the 16 sites face pretty Abrams Creek (book sites 01 through 09 for a waterfront view). The others are arranged along the edge of the woods.
You must book before you arrive; there's no pay-upon-arrival option – and no mobile service once you're at the campground.
The campground lies 7 miles north of Hwy 129 along Happy Valley Rd. Abrams Creek is a popular fishing spot. The campground is also the starting point for some scenic trails, including an 11-mile round-trip backcountry trail to Abrams Falls. Note that this trail approaches Abrams Falls from the west and is not the 5-mile round-trip hike to the falls that departs from Cades Cove.
