Parris Island Museum

This fascinating museum covering Marine Corps history contains antique uniforms and weaponry, but is most engaging for its exhibits chronicling the grueling, intense and scary (that CS gas-chamber exercise!) 13-week Marine basic training, which takes place here and at a second facility in San Diego, California. It's far worse than in An Officer and a Gentleman!

Don't miss the introductory movie The Transformation.
