Old Jail Museum & Visitor Center

Maryland

Completed in 1876, this small jail replaced the 1858 jail – which was apparently quite easy to escape. The Old Jail is two stories high and the cells were on the 2nd floor. The jailor and his family lived on the 1st floor. Inside the granite-and-brick structure you can see a few pieces of old furniture and exhibits about country history. The jail doubles as a visitor center.
