3 Floyds Brewing Co

Top choice in Indiana

At 3 Floyds brewpub, death-metal blares. There are burly beards and tattoo sleeves all around. And hoppy suds. It's earned a cult following by brewing with tons of unusual hops. Beer geeks drive for miles to lay lips on pints of Zombie Dust, a flowery pale ale; Gumballhead, an orangey wheat ale; and Dark Lord, a legendary Russian imperial stout.

Dark Lord is available only one day per year: on a Saturday in late April or early May, known as Dark Lord Day, when there is a festival for its release that sells out in minutes. The brewpub cooks up eclectic farm-to-table grub, and the shop sells bottles to go. Free tours happen most Saturdays between 12:30pm and 5:30pm (hourly, on the half hour). Arrive early and expect crowds.

3 Floyds is located in a middle-of-nowhere industrial park in Munster. A next-door distillery opened in 2019.
