Volcano Inn

Top choice in Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park

Don't be put off by the gaudy neon sign, this welcoming inn's wood-trimmed rooms and common areas offer great value. The main building contains immaculate rooms (pay up for corner rooms with fern-forest views) and a positive communal vibe. Family cottages come with kitchenettes and all rooms have access to three hot tubs (but charge extra for over two people).

You'll likely want to supplement the small papaya boat breakfast with something heartier to fuel you on a long day of exploring. Be aware when booking as a group that some rooms are across the highway. All rates drop for multiple-night stays.
