This campground has an incredible setting on oceanside cliffs amid the stone ruins of an ancient Hawaiian village, but it's primitive. The simple facilities include pit toilets, picnic tables and grills. Drinking water is only available from the nearby visitor-center restrooms. Camping is first come, first served. Stays are limited to three nights in 30 days.

In winter you鈥檒l usually have the place to yourself, and even in summer there鈥檚 typically enough space to handle everyone who shows up. Bring mosquito repellent and gear suitable for rainy conditions. The campground is 440yd southeast of the Kipahulu Visitor Center.
