Honoliʻi Beach Park

Hilo

For boardsports, this is it: Hilo's only surfing and bodyboarding spot. Locals flock here for the consistent wave action, never mind the rocky beach. Don't enter the water unless you're experienced and respectful. Spectators can watch from grassy lawns or the road above. Don't expect sand, swimming or drive-up access, but there are daily lifeguards, restrooms, showers and picnic areas.
