Oakland Cemetery

Atlanta

In addition to holding the graves of author Margeret Mitchell, golf great Bobby Jones and Atlanta’s first African American mayor, Maynard Jackson, Atlanta's historic garden cemetery (dating to 1850) is one of the few graveyards in the world to boast a visitor center and museum shop. It offers themed tours, a music festival called Tunes from the Tombs and other events.
