On a major highway, handily located for access to the theme parks, Gaylord's enormous glass-topped atrium encompasses four re-creations of Florida wilderness: the Everglades, St Augustine, Emerald Bay and Key West, each with live plantings, piped-in insect sounds and running water. This is, without a doubt, one of the largest hotels in the region and it has plenty of energy.
It's popular as a conference center (expect corporate banners) and a family resort. There's an on-site 'water park,' with poolside movies, waterslides (including a surf experience) and both zero entry and adults-only pools.
