Sunfish Pond

New York, New Jersey & Pennsylvania

Despite the name, this is really more of a glacial lake than a pond, located 1000 feet above sea level and only accessible by hike – we prefer the Dunnfield Creek Trail, but there's several ways out here (see www.njhiking.com/sunfish-pond for a comprehensive list of routes). It's a beautiful dollop of icy blue, situated in a lovely cup of forested highlands.
