The bright red neon lights of Gad are a beacon for meals on the cheap. This Egyptian street-food chain (famed in its home country) is all about budget Middle Eastern street food. This is where you come for sandwiches of falafel, fuul (mashed fava bean paste; we recommend the Alexandrian fuul), and meat shawarmas (meat sliced off a spit and stuffed in a pocket of pita-type bread with chopped tomatoes and garnish).
There are plenty of kebab grill mains if you fancy something more substantial, but Gad really shines at the cheaper sandwich end of its extensive menu.
