Populist

NiÅŸantaÅŸi, Bomonti & Harbiye

One of the few brewpubs in Ä°stanbul, the Populist became a hot spot as soon as it opened in 2016. A seasonally changing craft-beer list that includes selections such as Scotch ale and stout offers a welcome alternative to the ever-present Efes. A brisket sandwich, artichoke dip, or other choices on the heavily American-style menu pair well with the brews.

DJs spin almost nightly and Turkish and European sports matches are aired on a big screen. Reservations are essential on weekends, especially if you want a spot on the outdoor patio during the warmer months. It's part of the industrial-chic Bomontiada complex, an urban-infill redevelopment of the old Bomonti beer factory that is also now home to the Babylon nightclub.
