Huan Soontaree

Chiang Mai

Thai tourists eagerly make the pilgrimage 8km north of town to this rustic restaurant in the hope of hearing the dulcet tones of its owner, Thai chanteuse Soontaree Vechanont. She performs here from around 8pm. The food menu is a pleasing blend of northern, northeastern and central Thai specialities.

It's on the west side of the river, just south of Rte 11. Beware the aggressive dogs that guard the parking lot.
