Petain Road Terraces

Little India & Kampong Glam

Between Jln Besar and Sturdee Rd is an extraordinary row of lavishly decorated double-storey terraces dating back to the 1920s. They're a gasp-inducing explosion of colour, from the floral-motif ceramic wall tiles to the pillar bas-reliefs adorned with flowers, birds and trees. The hyper-ornate decoration is typical of what's known as Late Shophouse Style.
