Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe

Western Central Highlands

Light floods what is officially called the Basílica Menor Catedral de Colima from its circular dome windows on the northeast side of Plaza Principal. It has been rebuilt several times since the Spanish first erected a cathedral here in 1527, most recently after the 1941 earthquake, when its northern tower collapsed. Most of the current neoclassical structure dates from 1894.
