Orange Valley

Montego Bay & Northwest Coast

Now used for raising racehorses, this former sugar estate dates back to 1678, and is open to the public via tour. Historian Kathy Weiselberg shows you the creeper-covered remains of sugar-production equipment and copper molasses pits and the small museum inside the former stables. The highlight is the largely intact slave hospital – architecturally the most impressive of its kind in Jamaica. Call for precise directions along country roads.
