Below Campo Bianco and the abandoned pumice mines at Porticello, this pebble beach is nicknamed Spiaggia Bianca in reference to the layers of white pumice dust that once covered it. These have been slowly washed away by the rough winter seas, leaving it a dark shade of grey. However, residual pumice still gives the sea a limpid turquoise colour here.
