Desmond Castle


Located on an island in the River Deel, this magnificent ruin is undergoing a slow process of restoration which began in 2007. Local historian and expert Anthony Sheehy can take a maximum of 12 visitors around the castle at weekends by arrangement through the Askeaton tourist office.
