Top choice in East Iceland

Continuing the wonderful Icelandic tradition of live music in unlikely places, this warm, creative farm (1km east of Berunes HI Hostel) is owned by a young family that includes acclaimed musician Prins Póló. A converted barn is now a cafe and music venue; look out for events on Ჹí's Facebook page, or stop by to try the tasty farm-made bulsur (vegan sausages).

You can also order great coffee, soup and waffles. Also here: a small, excellent new hostel, with communal kitchen and bathrooms (dorm/double from 5860/17,300kr).

Outside summer, hours for the cafe are less concrete – call, or check Facebook.

The farm is 21km along the Ring Road south of Breiðdalsvík, and 41km from Djúpivogur.
