This one-of-a-kind luxury hotel was created out of the long-derelict art nouveau Gresham Palace (1907) and no expense was spared to piece back together the palace鈥檚 Zsolnay tiles, mosaics, and celebrated wrought-iron Peacock Gates leading from the enormous lobby. The hotel is truly worthy of its name, and its 179 rooms and amenities are stylish but never over the top.
The spa on the 5th floor, with a smallish infinity lap pool and iced towels at the ready, is among the most beautiful in the city. Some rooms (eg twin 325) have heart-stopping views of the Danube and Buda Castle.
