Pearl Airfield

Grenada Island

Once the island's main airport, this airfield just north of Grenville was taken over by marines during the US invasion, leaving two Cuban planes stranded beside the runway. Now it's a peculiarly peaceful scene with goats nibbling away at green pastures beneath the mangled wings. You can climb inside the Russian-built Antonov jet, but bring sturdy footwear as there are loose bits of metal with sharp edges.
