Theatro Skion Tasou Konsta

Athens

Greece's wise fool, Karagiozis, gave his name to the art of shadow puppetry (karagiozi), and they're on beautiful display in this tiny outdoor theatre every summer. Sure it's all in Greek, but the humour is slapstick and there's plenty of music in the various shows. After the 45-minute performance, kids can file backstage to see how the magic happens.

Check their website for performances during the rest of the year; they're are usually held on Saturdays and Sundays at the troupe's home base of Achilleos 90, Palaio Faliro.
