This interesting, modern museum traces the history of religion and culture in the DR back to the 18th century. It is on the grounds of the Basilica de Nuestra Señora de la Altagracia, surrounded by an impressive sea of palm trees, and worth a visit. It can feel fairly abandoned, devoid of other visitors and staff on some days.
