Dating to 1675, this landhuis (plantation house) is one of the oldest country houses on the island. Throughout the 18th century the Santa Martha plantation included a cattle ranch, a sugar mill and freshwater wells, as well as productive salt pans (fueled by slave labor) in the 19th century. The stately house has been carefully restored and is now mainly used for private events.
