While the first hour or so of the valley walk is on a wooden boardwalk, after that it's muddy trails through yak-filled pastures and dense forests all the way to the end. There's a shuttle (included in park entry) from the tourist centre to within the park just past Zhangmu Village, but from there you'll need to be prepared to walk the rest of the way up the 29km valley trail.
