The stunning flat-top mountains and deeply incised waterways of this national park are simply supernatural playgrounds. Designated a World Heritage Site in 1987, the park offers special significance to geologists as a blueprint for the planet. The bronze-colored Tablelands feature rock from deep within the earth's crust, supplying evidence for theories such as plate tectonics.
