Marti Buckley has lived in San Sebastian since 2010. In that time, she has managed to eat more pintxos than perhaps any human ever, crushed txakoli grapes with her feet, and floated over the Rioja in a hot-air balloon. You'll find this writer and chef from Alabama all over Spain, sipping salmorejo in Andalucía and breakfasting ensaimada in the Balearic Islands or surfing in southwest France and eating oysters in Arcachon. She is the author of the acclaimed cookbooks Basque Country (Artisan, 2018) and The Book of Pintxos (2024) and writes for international food and travel titles.
