Lake Wendouree

Victoria

Lake Wendouree, a large artificial lake used for rowing events at the 1956 Olympics, is a natural focal point for the town. A popular running and cycling track encircles it, old timber boat sheds line the shore, and there's plenty of bird life. Beside the lake are restaurants, the botanic gardens and a tourist tramway.
