With its sparkling waterfront, grassy sites and fab amenities, the Basin is a very popular national park campsite. Drinking water, flush toilets, barbecues, firewood and ice are all available; showers are cold. There is no car access so you can either ferry across from Palm Beach or park at West Head Rd and then walk or cycle the steep 2.8km Basin Track.

As it's the only place to camp in the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, the Basin is extremely busy over the summer months so be sure to book ahead.
