Wollongong City Beach

South Coast NSW

The southern of Wollongong's two city beaches is a popular stretch of golden sand with good swimming (especially at the northern end) and, depending on the wind, surfing.

Looking north it's a romantic vista of headland and lighthouse, but turn around and the view of the massive Port Kembla steelworks will banish any tropical-island fantasies.
