Casa de Gobierno

Salta & the Andean Northwest

One of Tucumán's many magnificent structures, this neoclassic beauty has a Parisian quality, and you won't miss it as it's right on Plaza Independencia. While the exterior is rather majestic and the interior tiles are original, these days it's a behind-the-times, workaday government office complex. The interior halls are dank and dark, the wiring exposed and the lights fluorescent. But that facade is something!
