An ornate pavilion protects the remains of the sturdy stone house, once a guesthouse for people coming to trade with the Jesuit missions, in which the Liberator San MartÃn was born. In truth, there isn't a great deal to see, but it's interesting to see the veneration – which you might see as having a somewhat hysterical, overblown edge – in which he is held in Argentina.
