Floralis Genérica

Recoleta & Barrio Norte

This gargantuan flower sculpture, located in the center of Plaza Naciones Unidas, is the inspired creation of architect Eduardo Catalano, who designed and funded the project in 2002. The giant aluminum and steel petals open and close like a real flower every morning and evening. When the bloom is fully open, the flower measures 105ft wide. Come around 8am, or at sunset to see the flower close.
